Exporting weights to Breedplan

How do I export weights to a Breedplan?

Detailed Description

Step 1

  • Animals can be either:
    • selected on the basis of any animal whose performance data matches the entered criteria e.g. wieght type, date range. (see Step 3), or
    • preselected on the main animal list (see below)
       
  • Click on the Animals toolbar icon.
  • Select the Animals that you wish to export the weights for.
    • A dark green background means that you have selected the animal/s.
    • To select animals in a contiguous group - click on the first animal in the group, hold down the Shift key and then click on the last animal in the group. 
    • Individual animals may be selected or deselected by holding down the Ctrl key and click on the each animal you require.

 

Step 2 

  • Select File > Export Options > Weights, Scanning and Traits (Breedplan) menu option.

 

Step 3.

  • Export to File: select a location on your computer to save the file.
  • Under Export Type, click on the Weights Only radio dial to select..
  • Wts. Obs.Code - assign an observation code to define the type of weight being exported. (eg. BW: Birthing Weight, WW: Weaning weight, 600: 600 Day Weight etc).
  • Tick the Just use animals already selected in main list box.
  • Click on the Export button to start the process.  

Note: if animals have not been pre-selected via the main animal list, all criteria must be entered, e.g. weight type, date range, etc. Animals selected will have perfomance data that matches the entered criteria.

 

  • Click Yes to Confirm message: 'Export weights/traits to C:\.....\.....\Stockbook\weights.dat?'
  • Click Yes to Confirm message: 'Do you want to include a printout with the export (recommended)?'
  • Click OK to Information message 'Export Complete.'
  • You can now email the save file to ABRI/Breedplan.

 

Note:

  • Tick the Email File box in Step 3, if you want the file to be sent directly by email. (This will need the modem to be connected and functioning for it to happen.)
