End Of Year Process for businesses that do not submit a BAS

How do I do Year-end Processing if I do not submit a BAS to the ATO?

 

Detailed Description

For information for businesses not required to be registered for GST,  click on the following ATO link: If you are not registered for GST

 

  • At the end of the financial year everybody must perform an End of Year Process before entering information for the next financial year, regardless of whether they are registered for GST or not.

 

For those who do not lodge a BAS, you must do the following in order to do Year-end processing:

Step 1:

  • Click on BAS toolbar icon.
  • Click on the Setup tab.
  • Make sure both options in Include in BAS Return: PAYG Withholding and GST/Other taxes/FTC are not ticked.
  • Make sure the Activate GST in Cashbook Plus! is not ticked.
  • Click on the Close button.


 

Step 2:

  • Ensure that all banks accounts have been reconciled to the end of the financial year.

Step 3:

  • BACKUP YOUR DATA FILES.

 

Step 4:

To do Year End Processing:

  • Click on Utilities > Year-end Processing menu option.
  • Tick the relevant checkboxes to either:
    • delete employee pay details. (i.e. the pays made to each employee (ie. Payroll > select Employee > Pays tab) in this financial year, are not displayed in the new financial year.) 
    • delete inactive employees from current year lists.
    • delete inactive Suppliers/Customers.
    • delete unused note items from lists (transaction dissection notes).
    • delete inactive Products/Items.
    • keep last years paid customer invoices.
  • Click on the OK button to begin (or Cancel/Exit to abort) the year-end rollover.

 

  • Click OK to Information message:

 

  • Click OK to Information message: 'Transaction Check Complete'.
  • Click Yes to Confirm message: 'About to commence rollover. Proceed?'
  • Click OK to Information message: ' End of Year Processing Complete'.
