Filter & Reporting for Animals with Replaced NLIS ID's/Tags

Summary

How do I filter for animals that have had their NLIS ID changed in Stockbook?

Once I have filtered for these animals, how do I report the change to NLIS? 

Detailed Description

Step 1

Identify all animals that have had their NLIS tag replaced:

  • Click on the Animals toolbar option. 
  • Click on the Filter button located in the top right hand of the screen on the Animals page. 
  • In the Note contains field type REPLACE.
  • Click on the OK button.

 

  • The Animals screen will now populate with only those animals that have had their NLIS ID replaced. (Go to Step 2)

For your information:

  • Click on an animal listed. (a dark green background means that you have selected the animal.) 
  • Click on the Edit button at the bottom of the screen.
  • Click on the Note tab at the bottom of the Edit Animal window.
  • Note: When the ID is replaced it is recorded in the notes comment and will look the same as the image below. 

 

Step 2 

Reporting the tag replacement to the NLIS Database. 

  • Select the animals that you wish to export to the NLIS database from the list of animals. 
    • A dark green background means that you have selected the animal.
    • To select animals in a contiguous group, click on the first animal in the group, hold down the Shift key and then click on the last animal in the group.
    • Individual animals may be selected or deselected by holding down the Ctrl key and clicking on the animal. 
  • Click on the NLIS toolbar icon. 

 

Step 3 

In the NLIS Functions window:

  • Click on the Replaced Tags radio dial for the NLIS export.
  • All animals selected will be listed in the right hand side of the window.
  • Note: If no animal have been previously filtered and selected, you can repeat the process in Step 1 by clicking on the Animal Selection button. This will take you to the Animal Search Filter window.

Step 4 

  • Click on the Upload button at the bottom of the screen underneath the animal list. 
  • This will upload the changes to the NLIS database.
