Data Hosting - Adding a Hosted Company

Detailed Description

Adding a company to your Hosted Companies list is the first step in being able to share your company file via Data Hosting with another Cashbook Plus! user.

Before you start:

  1. Make sure you have activated your Data Hosting account. (Click on the following link: Data Hosting - Activate Account.)
  2. Make sure the other user (e.g. an associate or an accountant) is a currently supported Cashbook Plus! client.

 

Step 1: Add a company for sharing,

  • Click on Setup > Data Hosting menu option.
  • Click on the Hosted Companies tab.
  • Click on the Add button.

 

  • Select the company you wish to host/share from the list, by clicking on the drop-down arrow in the Company box. e.g. Company JKL.



 

  • You can select specific accounting year/s to share by clicking on the drop down arrow in the Don't sync years on//before box. e.g. 2015.

Note: Picking a year from this list will stop Data Hosting from sending and receiving updates for any year on or prior to the specificed year. For Example: If you select 2015 from the Don't sync years on/before box, you are allowing data from the Current Year and subsequent years available to be sent and received to and from your computer. This will not impact any other people this company may be shared with.

This function is to protect you from having your data overwritten by another authorized user. (see below)

  • Click OK to upload data.

 

  • An Uploading data... window will appear.

 

The company will now appear in your Hosted Companies list.

  • My Company:
    • Ticked - if you are the owner of this hosted company.
    • Unticked - if you are not the owner of this hosted company, i.e. it has been shared with you.
  • Users: If My Company is ticked, this will show how many users you have shared this company with. Otherwise it will be zero.
