Summary

How do I restore data from backup?

Detailed Description

You can either restore a backup file, or from a backup sent to the Data Warehouse.

A. Restoring data from a backup file

1. Click on File / Restore Data / you can either choose Individual Company (most common, and will only work for an Individual Company backup)) or All Companies/Years (which will only work for  an All Company backup). Due to the potential implications of using the latter, please contact Practical Systems if you wish to do this and have not been guided through it before.

2. For Individual Company, click on Load Data button.

3. Find your saved backup in the window that opens. It will be a zip file. Once found, click on it and select Open. This will take you back to the Restore Data window in Cashbook.

4. In the Restore Data window Step 2. requires you to select Data Available to restore.

NOTE: Any data you restore will overwrite EVERYTHING in the company/s year/s you restore into.

NOTE: If you tick Restore Into Current Year, you are able to save a previous financial year's data into the current year. For example. If the Current Year is 2014. You can tick the Restore Into Current Year box and only tick 2013. The 2013 year will now become the current year and all 2014 data will be lost.
