Setting up drafting in Stockbook Live Entry

How do I set up the drafting function in the Live Entry screen?

Step 1

• Open Live Entry
• Click on the Setup > Drafting menu option

Step 2

• Tick the Enable Drafting box

Step 3

• Click on the Type of Drafting drop down menu
• Choose the appropriate type for your session.
• Please be aware of the following when picking either of the Automatic options:
  • ​AUTOMATIC: If you pick this option, the Data Entry panel will be disabled and you will not be able to record data for that animal. The draft critera must be on existing data in Stockbook, and not on anything being recorded on the day.
  • AUTOMATIC ON WEIGHT: You can only record new weights for animals. The draft critera must be existing data in Stockbook, or weight.

Step 4

• Tick the boxes for the Gates you wish to use
• Click on the Set Draft Criteria button

Step 5

• Enter the information for which you wish to set your filter using the drop down menus
• Then click on the Add to List button
• Repeat for any of your drafting criteria
• Click OK 

Step 6 (optional)

• If you want animals going out a specific gate to also be moved into a Mob/Group/Paddock/User List in Stocbook, click on the Move to... and choose where to send the drafted animals.
• Clilck on the OK button

Step 7

• The Draft Setup requires a Default Gate. This is the gate that gets opened for any animal that doesn't meet the criteria of any of the other gates.
