Download a Tag Bucket File from NLIS database

Summary

How do I download a Tag Bucket File from NLIS?

Detailed Description

Step 1

Step 2

  • Select the Log In option

Step 3

  • Enter your NLIS user ID and NLIS password.
  •  Click on the Login button.

Step 3

  • In the box below where it says What do you want to do today? select View devices on my property.
  • Click on the Go button.

Step 4

  • PIC  (Property Identification Code) - can select All PICs or just one.
  • Report Type: most common types of reports are:
    1. All devices currently on my PIC (no date range) - use if you are setting up Stockbook for the first time and you want to export all tag bucket files of all NLIS tags purchased into Stockbook.
    2. Device Purchased - use if you only wish to export the tag bucket file of your most recently purchased NLIS tags.
  • If you selected “Devices Purchased” you will need to select the start date and end date for tags purchased in that period.
  • Click on the Go button.

Step 5

  • Next, double check the tags displayed are correct.
  •  Click on the Export button in the bottom right corner.

Step 6.

  • In the Available fields box
    • Click on NLIS ID to highlight.
    • Click on the Add button.
    • Click on RFID to highlight.
    • Click on the Add button.
  • NLIS ID and RFID should now appear in the Selected fields box.

Note: This would make a bucket type of ‘NLIS ID, RFID’ because the tag bucket file type is created by the order in which fields are selected (see example below).

  • Leave the delimiter as ‘Comma – (,)’.
  •  Click on the Submit button.

Step 7

  • Click on the down arrow in the window that opens up.
  • Click on Open.
  • Save file to a location that is easy to find. (e.g. Desktop or My Documents).

  • Once you have downloaded and saved your Tag Bucket File, see the following link on how to Import Tag Bucket files into Stockbook.
