Exporting to Tru Test Scales

How do I export from computer to scales?

Detailed Description

To export selected cattle onto scales you will need to:

  • Connect your Tru-Test Weigh Scales Indicator to your computer. Click on the following link for instructions on how to Connect Devices to Stockbook.

 

Step 1

  • Click on the Animals toolbar icon.
  • Select the animals that you want to export from your current Animals list.
    • A green background means that you have selected the animal.
    • You may select animals in a contiguous group by clicking on the first animal in the group, holding down the Shift key and then clicking on the last animal in the group.
    • Individual animals may be selected or deselected by holding down the Ctrl key and clicking on the animal.
    • Click on the Filter button to choose animal by specifiying certain selection criteria. (eg. sire, dam, mob, group, paddock, property, identification (ie. Primary Ids), sex, etc.) 
    • Click on the Select All button, to select all animals is the animal list.

 

Step 2

  • Click on the File > Export Options > Animal Details to Data Collector > Tru-Test (for XR-3000) menu option.

 

Step 3

  • Tick the various check boxes in the Export column to select those lines of information you want to export.
  • Click on the correct date format from the list of formats. This information should be given to you by your collector supplier.
  • Turn on your Tru-Test indicator.
  • Press Setup and then the LIFEDATA softkey on your collector. The row number of each required item is the 'No. On Collector' required in each row.
  • Using the Export to Drive, to Directory and To File fields to setup the place where you want Stockbook to send the export file (defaults to Collector.csv).
  • Click on the Export button to start the process.
  • Click Yes to Confirm message: 'Export details to C:\Users\Testing\Documents\Stockbook\Collector.csv?'
  • Click Yes to Confirm message: ' Are you sure that you have the correct date format?'
  • Click OK to Information message: ' Export Complete.'

 

Step 4

Then import the file straight onto the scales via their software.

 

NOTE: It is important that the file is not opened before it is imported as this will corrupt the file.
